another great thread. lots of fun filter playing! i really like the field of petunias (or is it? i don't know enough about flowers, and my gardening-certificate boyfriend knows even less) and the one with the rope texture best, i think, but the space age backgrounds and all those checked things give me too many ideas for my own good.

I have no idea about the flowers either AnMal; just get the free stock photos from the free photo index, but they don't identify them there either. Thanks for your comments too. :)

some more messing around with mathmap.
Image
filter roundbump(image in,float zscale:1-50(10),float y_z:1-50(1),float z_per_y:1-50(1))
z = (sqrt(y*z_per_y*y*z_per_y+abs(x)*z_per_y*abs(x)*z_per_y)-y_z);
in(xy:[x/z*zscale,y/z*zscale])
end

and another... disco anyone?
Image
filter rectangles_sphere(image in,float multiples: 1-20 (2),float base:1-20 (2))
z = (sqrt(y*y+abs(x)*abs(x))-1);
in(xy:[floor((x*base/(z)))*multiples%20,floor(y*(base/(z)))*multiples%20])
end

Wow Tran; these are fantastic. The top one holds a lot of promise too for being able to possibly create Poincare renders. :)

i thought this is kind'a neat (looks like water ripples).
Image
filter circles2(image in,float zscale:1-50(10),float y_z:1-50(1),float z_per_y:1-50(1))
z = (sqrt(y*z_per_y*y*z_per_y+abs(x)*z_per_y*abs(x)*z_per_y)-y_z);
angle = z/floor(z);
in(xy:[x/z*zscale-sin(angle),y/z*zscale-cos(angle)])
end

and this one, not sure what it looks like
Image
filter circles2(image in,float zscale:1-50(10),float y_z:1-50(1),float z_per_y:1-50(1))
z = (sqrt(y*z_per_y*y*z_per_y+abs(x)*z_per_y*abs(x)*z_per_y)-y_z);
angle = floor(z);
in(xy:[x/z*zscale-sin(angle)/z,y/z*zscale-cos(angle)/z])
end
