Lovely fractals yours AnMal and Erisian. I wish I could create something good as yours. :bump
Marcello thanks for your tile. I've kept it. :) :bigthup

@Erisian - I downloaded the fractal explorer from your link but kept getting 'dll' errors, so I will try and learn how to use Incendia (which I think Marcello uses) to obtain some fractal images!

I haven't tried installing it myself. Chaos Pro is a popular free fractal program for windows that I have used but fractal software tends to be neglected by the developers in the end for some reason so it's usually quite old. Oh well! :(

OMG,
if the .dll your system does not find is d3dx9_33.dll, you may put the copy I drop here (after unzipping it) in the folder of Fractal Explorer

Dinasset - thank you for this download - yes that was the missing dll. However, when I try to unzip/use it I receive more error messages:

Fine!
Enjoy it.
You may try also Apophysis (no installation) and Xaos (installation needed)

if you want to start in FE (Fractal Explorer) the easy way to start is to modify some project
follow this procedure:

1. unzip the attache zipfile and put the .frs files into a folder
2. open the FE program File>Open projects (CTRL + O)
3. go to the folder point 1 and open a file
4. Fractal>Select Fractal (F6) and change some settings like Formula,Julie set, Functions, Filters properties etc
5. if you like the new fractal click "Select" or return original "Cancel"

let me know if it is OK

Issabella - a very good start to fractals!!

Marcello - thank you for that; the best thing about GIMP CHAT is that it keeps extending my learning process. Now I have to catch up on fractals even though my GMIC learning list has only just started too :hehe !!

But right now I need to watch the Juve V Real Madrid game that I recorded.

Forza Juve!

Now Marcello, I have been trying to follow your instructions; however there are no menus and I can not work out how to load your files and error messages keep popping up. I am beginning to wonder if we are all on the same page

This is the screen I see, from the files I downloade/installed from Erisian's link.

Is this the Fractal Explorer you are familiar with? I did a quick search on the net and found that apparently there have been several fractal explorers over the years (including one in GIMP!).
