trandoductin, What version of apophysis are you using?
My version is 2.02 and has different Triangle options.

i don't remember it was years ago.
are you trying to reproduce what i posted using those settings?

The settings look different,
It used to be x,y and o I guess you could try setting your A to my x, your B to my y and your C to my o and see if it does it...
I am gonna download 2.02 and try it myself.

UPDATE: I tried 2.02 and it doesn't have diamond variation..I think i used 2.09..just downloaded it from http://sourceforge.net/projects/apophysis/ and it looks like that's the version i was using, i has many more variations.

Check the Variations menu for Diamond.

oh i see it it's under var 2 tab.
I'll try again and see if i can reproduce it in 2.02

UPDATE: I reproduced these 2 in 2.09 (I think I original used the Apophysis 3D hack because it has linear3D variation where now in 2.09 I don't see a linear 3D variation but that's okay because these 2 fractals don't use linear3D variation)...

If you want to give a try playing with these fractals you can load up this attached file in apophysis 2.09
never mind i can't upload .flame file

just paste this below code into a "FernNFeather.flame" file and open it using apo 2.09
<Flames name="FernNFeather">

I've loaded apophysis 2.09 now, your code looks lovely. :bigthup

They're both great, the feathers more so!

Well I started to try to learrn Apophysis today and thought that the conversation between Odinbc & Trandoductin would be a good place to start using the files that Trandoductin posted - quite honestly I really had no idea what I was doing just pushing buttons and changing values but I did end up with something I could play with in GIMP. These graphics programs can be very forgiving of new users ...

I have no idea what to do in that program either.
Just play around until you get something interesting.

easy way to start in Apophysis 2.09

1.unzip attached folder and put somewhere
2.in Apo 2.09 Open ( or CTRL+O) and retrive the file .flame that is in the folder (point 1)
3. you will see 4 items on the left , click over
4. with Editor (F4) try to change the settings or with F9 run script if you had open (CTRL+E)

----------------------
Thank you Trandoductin also for me the flame is working ( here I just change the gradient with F6)

plus embosse and grain merge original in Gimp

nice gradient...
I just inverted your image and vertically flipped it so it looks like some sort of abstract plant.
Image

Cut and pasted and moved a couple of things around to get this one (also an abstract plant I guess).

I use Apophysis 7x. I've created some nice fractals with it. Nice Fractal! :)

I have shown a few here in the past. I'll show new ones when I create them though. Don't worry. :)

Thought you would like it. That is the parameters 'bubbles' that comes with the program
