Still on my perspective binge. This one's much more convincing then my people portrait imo. :)

lyle: it looks great! you seem to have picked the right sky for it, the saturation levels match up very well, i think. my mum would go nuts over this, she loves anything with sunflowers :).

I was gong to comment on the sky as well... while I agree that the sky color is OK, the sky looks rather artificial because it doesn't look like "horizon sky", it looks like "zenith sky" cut and put on the horizon. Maybe some lack of perspective. It would be interesting to see if the sky could be produced by the same process, starting with a few *dons wide and curly wig* happy little clouds(*) *becomes bald again*.

Yes; used the sky from the original sunflowers picture (see reference) and just cleaned it up to extend it to the new width. Therefore, the sky should match the sunflowers since the sky is the same as the one for the original sunflower's pic (with added extension of course). May look fake, but I tried to make it as cleanly blended as possible. Thanks for the comments/feedback. :)

:ditto

As my art teacher at school used to point out, the sky actually looks lighter near the horizon and darker overhead (not the other way around, rather counter-intuitively) like this:

You can, of course, try to fake the colour gradient but you tend to end-up with bluish clouds overhead!

Easier to start with a pic which has both a realistic colour gradient and the right perspective in the clouds, eg. like this:

Don't take umbrage Lyle, but here's a quick try with your sunflowers and the skyscape I posted above.
I upped the brightness and contrast a fair bit to match.

I reckon that's getting pretty close to passing for an actual photo.
If you can pull the same stunt with your other perspectives you're onto a winner.
