I just tried a picture of a butterfly with concentric circles a [samj] and sent it into a spin. :hehe

interesting. you should post your source image as well just in case other people (which includes me) want to play with them too :D

Not sure what you did to get it to spin...
I only know of the radial blur...so here's my effect to reproduce your effect.

1st was a Public domain photo

Then I used two different patterns in the others two
1st one was some paisley type brushes over a blend

the 2nd one is a pattern I made from a pink fractal after running some filters on it.

I was playing this this butterfly and twirl and also was trying to use only primary colors.

There's a new "stable" version of Gmic for Gimp (version 1.6.3.1) just posted on gmic.eu and samj's website - perhaps you need to upgrade.
