i am still in a rococo phase. this time i revisited my old iwarp paisley technique and used it on some rococo paintings, then i made a gih brush of the resulting paisleys and made this ... collage, i guess. i mixed in other rococo elements as well, even in the background.

Very nice Anmal. I like how you have integrated the characters into the paisleys, added other details and the lacy background.
It is superb!

Anmal - That is a terrific combination - I think that it would make a wonderful ceiling decoration in an old palace!

I like how it all fits together, it doesn't look copy and pasted but it works well as a theme. I like it! :D

sallyanne: thank you :-)! it was fun to put it together, the hardest part was stopping myself from adding too much.
oldmangrumpy: thanks :)! i've told erisian we need to save up for a palace now - having this painted in some slightly domed ceiling is a great idea!
mokonafan: yaay! thank you, sis - i really worked on making it a unified whole and not just a cut-and-paste thing, so it's nice to hear you think i made it :).

ludde: hehe, rococo can be quite overwhelming at times! thanks for your comment and if you want rococo for real there's for example kina slott in stockholm :).
conbagui: thank you, brother :)!
issabella: thank you :). it would be fun to see you do something on a rococo theme yourself sometime.
erisian: you don't think at least one of us should have a head small enough to fit through the door?

Anmal - re football match, yes probably a fair result but it was good for the Aussies to finish second in the 'group of death'! :)

But back to GIMPing - I knew I had seen a paisley pattern on a palace ceiling somewhere, so I revisted my old photos and came up with this one from that marvellous Rococo palace of Catherine the Great on the outskirts of St Petersburg ...

Anmal - I am glad you like the ceiling, trouble is now you have got me hooked on paisley!

So here are some variations on that theme ...

Anmal - help :? ... I can't stop playing with paisley; so I made some ceramic feature tiles to modernise a rococo bathroom ...

How do I get out of paisley land?
