sallyanne: normally i'm not much for pastels, but i agree with erisian & conbagui on this, the colours look lovely and the light rays so soft and summery.

Thank you all. It didn't actually turn out how I would have liked. ! wanted the lettering to glow like light but found with nearly every effect there is a shadow. And I know light by itself doesn't cast a shadow.

Can someone else show me how I would do that please?

1. Duplicate the text layer
2. Working on the bottom text layer, run brightness/contrast making it almost white
3. Blur the bottom text layer with gaussian blur
4. If necessary, duplicate the blurred layer to strengthen it.
