I did this one some time ago and didn't get around to posting it. I was playing with different techniques to usual and ended up with what looks like one of those 3D animations.

Very nice Eris, you always do such a nice job of your blending.

Sort of reminds me of Tamara de Lempicka artwork Erisian. :)

I like the dimension in the face! My only quibble would be that for a girl that is missing somebody (at least based on personal experience) she looks a little more angry than sad. Though I suppose everyone reacts differently.

I agree she looks more angry than sad--but I'd say that's a common reaction.

Great work!

erisian: as usual, it's a bit hard for me to say something i haven't already said. i like your experiments in style and subject, they always give nice results and this is one of my favourites. i especially like the way you used colour in this, it makes it seem alive in a way those 3d animations never seem to me.

about the expression: i read it as depressed, in a clinical sense. but now that moko and merrak say "angry" i can only read it as angry :).

Thank you everybody. It was supposed to be mild depression and deep in thought but now that you mention it, one of the eyebrows does make her look angry.

Nice painting Erisian, I love artworks that impart mood and emotion like this - although I'd have to agree with the others on the "angry" thing. If you were going for depression and deep in thought I'd say maybe the eyebrows shouldn't slope downwards towards the middle so much?

Thanks both of you. AnMal's sister liked this so much that we got it printed onto canvas for her and she is really proud of it. She took a photo and put it on Instagram and it got some good comments. It isn't my usual style and I'm not really sure I like it myself but it seems to be everybody else's favourite.
