one of my half billion or so sisters (well, okay, i exaggerated, they're only four, with my sister in law included) turns another year on sunday and i did make her a card the traditional way with paper, paint, glue and scissors, but i was also inspired to make something in gimp. i had a vague idea what i wanted to make, so i experimented around and my experiments quite soon gave such a good result that i decided to write a tutorial for the final product even if i didn't even have that final product yet :)!

the tutorial is on it's way. it will be in pdf format, with pictures included here and there, ridiculously long (i just can't keep myself short! i couldn't do it to save my life) and not on an easy and basic level even if i tried to make it accessible for newbies - but i personally think the result is worth it. (tip: this really should be seen full size, it's 1200X1200 px)

Don’t be afraid to start over. It’s a new chance to rebuild what you want.

Your card designs are awesome, AnMal and I have been privileged to see the cards you make by hand at home as well. You have exceptional talent and I like this one a lot.

oldmangrumpy: thank you :)! the tutorial was already well on its way when i posted this image.

issabella: thank you :)! i wish you best of luck with the tutorial, i'd love to see your take on it.

erisian: hey, mister! who's to keep me humble if you don't?! besides, i get very suspicious when you're this nice. have you spilled out my favourite tea or something? :hehe i love your avatar, by the way! if you let me have one of your faces from the past weeks i might even consider changing my own avatar - about time after three years, or what do you think?
