Well, I've been coloring and drawing and posting stuffs. Well I wanna challenge anyone who wants to color a drawing of mine! It's a free-for-all. It doesn't have to be colored to look completed, can be filters, painting, coloring. Anything you want. And you don't have to keep the lineart, you can look at it as a sketch. I won't be insulted. Just have fun! I have a couple I could have picked out, but I figured this one would be the most exciting for people!

It's from a cellphone photo so I had to fix it in GIMP.

Image

Tip: For those who don't normally use line-art on a white background, you can use multiply so you can see the black under it.

Have at it! Enjoy!

This is just a feeble attempt using the colorization plugin. I'm trying to figure out why the colors turned out so light when I actually used dark colors. Perhaps I am missing a step somewhere. In any case, it produced an interesting result.

Great pic, Moko!

and my feeble attempt.... I used layer masks... kinda clunky but I think it turned out ok, but maybe just a little amateur-looking....

Thank you Odin. I used lower opacity's on each layer to get that pastel effect. :paint
XCF attached.

I really suck at hair though. :hehe

it's a lovely picture, moko! i'm not allowed to play with gimp (before the wedding, i'm not allowed to do very much at all, we have preparations and preparations), but hopefully it won't be too late for me to give it a try when we come back from our honeymoon.

Isn't that weird how a post can suddenly come alive? :)

Not good at coloring, but for something different, here is a try with bird feather texture layers, then processed with Texturize by Area by Color filter.

This is in no way a showcase of any particular skill on my part, just wanted to try and get it as close to my vision as possible. The hair should be more auburn in color, and I envisioned her with darker skin than shown here, it's just that my talent at rendering my vision into reality is akin to a mirage in the desert. I see it, but when I get there, it's not real. Haha. BTW, being a big fan of Photocomix's smoothing filter, I just had to throw that in there.
