Well, OMG, those colors were a surprise to me. I just chose a random map called #17 or something like that. I need to go look at each map and rename with with their colors.

The omens are in my favour - a day scheduled for gardening turned into a day Gimping; four separate thunder storms with torrential rain and hail.

So I further explored options with glass ... what else? - especially black glass with some interesting results! my favourite is gold black glass ...

Image

... colour tinted plain glass is OK too ...

Image

... and thank you Graechan for furry options ...

I do like this weather!

oldmangrumpy: oh lucky you! bad weather all day :hehe. actually, we had bad weather too and spent most of the day just playing. had to take a computer break mid-afternoon, though, because we got a thunderstorm here as well. a very close one. in november!! :gaah anyway, i love your polar bear and the black and gold glass ornament, they're lovely. the vases are not my thing, but they are very well made and realistic enough, so my hat's off to the glass artist :).

Anmal - some crazy weather, four separate storms and the gold fish in our pond were hiding from the hail bombs!

Issabella - as always thank you, I appreciate your words.

Seems like everybody is all 'glassed out', but you can never have too much glass ...

Pat625 - well thank you Pat; as for ideas I am not sure whether to blame GIMP or a deprived childhood. GIMP has so much to offer and explore and my childhood was extremely basic leaving me a great deal of time to use my imagination ;)

Is that R2D2? And another one of your wondrous creations! What did you use to edge the second one?

Pat625 - thanks Pat but no it's not R2D2 but a Dalek, an infamous alien from the BBC TV series Dr Who, which has been running continuously since 1963.They have many global fans!

The glass dish edge was initially just a hexagon path which I stroked with a 'rock' brush I created many months back. To get the right effect the brush spacing was set at about 95% and the 'track direction' option was used under brush dynamics - a trick I learned from Anmal!!

The forum still seems very quiet in terms of contributors; never mind here are some more glassy works ...

... something a little different

... a glass extravaganza

... and some wood encased glass in glass encased wood

Lovely, OMG. Around here, it's a very busy time of the year. Thanksgiving, Christmas, extra work at the job, and winter snows are starting, with snow shoveling and extra care for the animals.

2-ton - my comment was general in nature but mea culpa, I should realise that I am very lucky/priviledged to be in retirement and have time on my hands. Mind you I worked very hard for 45 years to get here!

Good luck with your snow shovelling and take care of those animals :)

I do wish I had more time to post examples, but I do try to make sure I read up on all the new posts almost every day. I would say, I always have an excuse to not be doing more gimp...busy season now, then in summer the garden work takes me away, but I must admit, I am also very lazy so that is a big reason I don't get a lot of work done to post.

As usual, OMG your creations are amazing. You are extremely creative! Since you have given me some help, I thought I would try a decoration for the tree this year!

Lyle - thank you; remember it was you that started me off on glass

Pat625 - only too happy to help Pat and wow, that is an excellent and well decorated piece of glassware for Christmas; well done :clap :clap

I really am trying to move on to learn something else ... but each time it progressively reverts back to glassware ...

... and one for Wallace
