this collage features a dollface effect, g'mic filtering, deep dreaming, extensive layer mask work and about twentyfive different basic images and as you might expect it took me a while. i think the result was worth it though! it's a bit inspired by a unique surrealist artist called daniel merriam (http://www.danielmerriam.com/) but i didn't start it out by trying to imitate his style, i started out by experimenting and the result made me think of daniel merriam's use of colours and of his semi-flat style, so i just expanded on that.

"seelie" is a word i picked up from a collection of scottish fairytales and it refers to a type of fairies. i tried to give the collage an eerie and unpredictable touch, much as i imagine fairies would be like.

edit: dang it, now that i look at it i see the composition went wrong when i put the graphic novel filter on the musical fairy, he (i think it's a he) takes over too much. i'll see what i can do about that.

edit 2: did something about it and like the composition, much, much better now!

Great effort AnMal!
I think this has to be one of your most elaborate images yet.

wallace: thank you :). not my most elaborate when it comes to making it, even if it must be high up on the list, but certainly one of my most elaborate in the sense of image content, which i'm rather proud of.
oldmangrumpy: you're an old flatterer, just like erisian! :hehe thank you, and i hope you have fun with the tut - dollface making is now one of my favourite hobbies.
issabella: thank you, sister :). i hope you tell me if the tutorial was too hard to understand, maybe i can do something about that.
lylejk: hehe, bizarrely wonderful makes great sense to me and i'm a linguist so i should know :). thank you!
2-ton: :tyspin you don't know how much it means to hear you thought it was "super interesting"!
