I am so blown away by all your guys' talent that when I needed an avatar for another forum I thought, "Hey, maybe they'll help me at GimpChat and then I'll look like a genius when I post my avatar." So yeah, so I'm attaching my lame avatar and I'm hoping you'll give it some new life. Now please, (I know this seems like I'm lazy and having you guys do my work for me--which is true ;) --but only do this if it seems fun for you).

Here are the guidelines: 175Wide by 240Height and maximum file size of 73kb. They didn't say but I'm sure either pngs or jpgs will be fine. No .gifs, though. (And I actually broke the rule by using a .gif clip art--the guy and the computer monitor. I converted it to .jpg but I don't know if that works or not. Probably (see the next paragraph) another reason not to use my avatar at all.)

As you can see my avatar has a guy in front of a monitor. YOU IN NO WAY JUST HAVE TO MODIFY THAT. IN FACT, I WOULD PREFER THAT YOU DO WHATEVER YOU WANT. SOMETHING ORIGINAL.

If you want some general ideas to riff off. It is a writers forum (AbsoluteWrite Water Cooler) the avatar will be in. I'm obviously a writer. I'm a golfer. Totally into classical music. Reading. I live in the Midwest. Suburban Chicago. I love GIMP. :) I have weird dreams. (I once dreamt I was making out with Hillary Clinton. Please DO NOT do that, though. LOL)

I probably don't need to remind you of this but don't use any images that are copyrighted or have any legal-type problems.
(I'm a chicken when it comes to that stuff.)

I'm attaching a couple of examples from the forum.

And if there should happen to be more than one that you guys do I can, and will, alternate the avatars.

I guess that's it. And :tyspin

Here's one I did a little something to.
You'll have to add your own background. ;)

I did some more work on this same avatar.
Maybe you'll like it too and this one has a full background.
Although it may be to large in weight to be used, given the file limit of 73kb.

I used to use PNGGauntlet to reduce the size of my png images. I used to theme mp4 players, and it always helped to have smaller sized files: http://pnggauntlet.com/

From the look of the image you posted of your avatar,
it looks as though it could benefit form a little sharpening.
I'm glad it worked out and you were able to use it.
