Wonderful tribute Sallyanne. Veteran's day is particularly sad for me since it will be the 9th anniversary of my mother's burial; today would be the 9th anniversary of her passing. Cannot believe it's been 9 years now; still remember like it was yesterday.

A beautiful contribution, as always.

Having no artistic talent, my own contribution for the 18 million who died in the four years of World War I is a natural poppy photograph that I took many years ago.

Sallyanne - you are aware that I recently visited France; along with many others in our party we visited Normandy, Omaha Beach and the US war cemetery nearby. It was an extremely moving occasion ... the French government in 2004 placed a commemorative monument on Omaha Beach called Les Braves ( http://www.normandy1944.org.uk/les_braves.htm ) .
