When i created the splash image for GIMP-2.8 i lost the workspace file when my machine died. Well i decided to go ahead and make another similar to the last one. I will be entering this one in the splash contest for the official splash image if there is one. :)

Have my doubts about 2-10 as 2-8-16 was only just released (go to bottom of page for Downloads)

Are there a lot of improvements in 2.8.16? I was not really wanting to change which one I am using right now unless there is a good reason.

Oh, I saw the announcement post after I posted. Is there much of a difference with the bug fixes? Is there much of a problem?

It appears that the mode menu size is now fixed Pat. Possibly other idiosyncrasies have been fixed too but I'm not really seeing anything extra as far as features are concerned (for my use anyway), so, if you ask me, that's a good thing. lol

:)

I don't understand why they haven't added a update option to the GIMP help menu yet.

I would think because of the unix/linux origins of Gimp where it is not just a single installation package but several packages which may or may not have connected dependencies to other applications.

This is the Gimp part of todays update, things like the libpng security update came a couple of days ago.

Quote:
gimp (2.8.14-4pclos2015) to 2.8.16-1pclos2015
gimp-python (2.8.14-4pclos2015) to 2.8.16-1pclos2015
lcms2 (2.6-1pclos2015) to 2.7-1pclos2015
libcairo2 (1.12.16-2pclos2014) to 1.14.4-1pclos2015
libgimp2.0_0 (2.8.14-4pclos2015) to 2.8.16-1pclos2015
libglibmm2.4_1 (2.46.1-2pclos2015) to 2.46.2-1pclos2015
liblcms2_2 (2.6-1pclos2015) to 2.7-1pclos2015
