Gimper66: I agree too! And I liked the happy smiling couple too, it cheered me up looking at it.

Edit: I'm a bit confused about something: You say you used the dynamic preset "Snow". Do you mean a preset that is part of the premade dynamics in Gimp or do you mean one you made yourself? I don't have a dynamic preset named "Snow" and never had, but maybe other gimp distributions have? Or if you made a snow preset yourself, woud you mind sharing what boxes in the dynamics grid you ticked - I want to make snow dynamics too!

AnMal,
below a print how I made the snow

Image

01-background layer
02-new transp. layer I call them snow
03-brush hardness 50
04-size 20
05- spacing 200

THEN GO TO DYNAMICS

Image

01-click on dynamics, a roll screen opens - select SNOW
02-click on APPLY JIITTER
03-set the amount to around 40
04-set the foreground color to white
05-Now move your cursor over your entire image, and the snow appears.

AnMal,
I hope that with this explanation you can now make plenty of snow.

Gimper66: Wow, I wasn't expecting that! Thank you for taking the time to explain with so much detail, that's much appreciated. AllI really wanted to know was where the "Snow" dynamics come from, because I haven't got that option in the dynamics resets. I thought maybe it was one you had created yourself.

I like the action in your last images :).

The Snow Dynamic requires a pressure sensitive graphics tablet to perform at its full potential.

Gimper66: Again, thank you :) I used your snow method for the snow in my Gimp Chat Lucia image and it worked very well. I added some short, thin lines of snowflakes too to make it look like the lighter flakes are blown about in the west coast wind.

Kinstantin: Indeed. But it's just the opacity level that is affected, and since my tablet is slow on this laptop I choose to ignore it. Next time I use the snow dynamics I'll experiment with setting it to velocity instead.

Gimper66: I love the neon images, very well made effect. And I'm definitely going to try using the box fitting filter for a background, I've seen you do it more than once to good effect.
