I forgot to put "P1" on the mic, just under the name and above the switch. :(

Thanks!
I was going to add a shock mount, but I was getting tired and needed a break.
Maybe I'll add a shock mount, the P1 and a stand tomorrow. ;)

Very nice indeed. I expected a photo and your take on it like you did with the lamp.
Where's the Wilber ;)

Thanks you guys! :bigthup

I didn't use any references this time,
I was Gimping by the seat of my pants.Image
It's not perfect,
but I must admit,
it came out better than I expected.
When I tilted it slightly to the right,
the switch went crooked. :(
The talent comes form the tools and being able to use the power of paths,
along with layer masks.
It's quite satisfying to be able to create stuff like this.
I'm trying to recreate everyday objects,
to be as close or near to photorealism as possible.
It's not something I've been practicing.
If I see a normal everyday object, that looks interesting to me.
I want to try and Gimp it.

I wanted to make a time-laps video to show you guys,
but I can't seem to get my recording software to work properly. :tantrum

Awesome Wallace. These are the kind of renderings I really like. I'm into the realistic looking stuff I guess.

Awesome Wallace! Really good job with the metallic effect and the mesh.

I winged it this time.
I did it without using any references.

Thanks a lot Warrior and Artloader. :clap

I'm now working on a wooden speaker cabinet,
should be done soon.
It's going to look something like this.

I can't remember the exact pattern I used,

Whaaaaatttttt?! You've got to be kidding me. The lamp and now a mic. Wow! At the mere mention of paths, I run. Wallace, you've got amazing talent and in a class by yourself! Look forward to your next photorealistic project.

Thank you.
This so called "talent",
that a lot of people refer to.
Steams for the applied use and knowledge of any tools an artists might have at hand.

Very nice metal rendering, but it is slightly asymmetric... the top right corner of the grid is also a bit higher and sharper than the top left. This said, if it belongs to a rock star, it could have taken some beating :)

No one mentioned it yet, but the reflections on the black plastic and the wire do get you bonus points.

Thanks Ofnuts and Yes, you're correct about the asymmetry.

I did put the image through quite a lot of minor scaling and perspective skewing,
which may account for some of the asymmetry.
This affect in symmetry,
is very minor and only noticeable to someone with a trained eye for symmetry,
such as yourself.

The wire/cord and it's attaching bits,
were among the most troublesome aspects of this image to try and create.
Thanks to your "path-inbetweener.py" plugin and a few of your other path tools.
I was able to pull it off successfully.
The reflection was actually an after thought.
Once I felt the image was finished and I began to review it.
The cord/wire looked pretty flat.
Adding the few minute reflections that I did,
really made a big difference.
It's peculiar how this minuscule reflective detail,
adds to an images overall realism.

I find it ironic to be told
that my eye
is trained for symmetry
by someone who gives us
symmetry exercises
in all
posts he writes :)
