My Gimp Splash Screeen :)

Nice splash. Really good choice of colors.

Did you know if you create a new folder named "splashes" without the quotes. And place it in the /userName/.gimp-2.8 directory you can add any png, gif, jpg images and they will load at random as different splash screens? Even gif animations will work.

Welcome to GimpChat! Don't worry about your English, it all gets figured out in some way. I thank you for the tip about the splashes. I think I'll play with that! Have you used Gimp for long?

If they want they can of course edit it.
Thanks to Linux I have gimp met. I use since 2 years Gimp.
With Photoshop I have done experience.
in these 2 years I have not played very often with gimp. There I do not know everything.

Rod: with the "splashes", is there a way to make it not random & is there a limit to how many images you can place in the folder?

You may be able to write or add a style within the gtkrc file but as far as i know the images only open randomly. Besides the whole idea of a "Splashes" folder is to open random splashes each time.

As far as amount of images the sky is the limit. :clap

I currently have 60 in mine and i add more all the time.

Wow! Wallace, you have a lot of nifty Splash screens. I'm getting a bit motivated here to try and do one myself. Do they have to be a certain size? Any other specific parameters?
