as suggested by Pat (and anticipated in my filter thread), it's time to create the Gimp Art thread, there are many "players" for this toy, hence this is the thread where to post new experiments

. Thank you Dinasset. This will be a lot of fun. Also a good learning exercise on blending images into another. I will probably pester you for tips on how to do this!

Diego - nice one so I had a play.

This photo we took last week on our 'bush' trip. In late August many international sculptors cane to Griffith for its centenary celebrations. Miguel Isla from Spain created this piece, among many in the city centre park but it is surrounded by sand right now where the electrical works for floodlights have been installed. So using your script I put the work in its own pond and ...

Mind you given the floodwaters are currently heading for Griffith, it might be in a much larger pond by days end.

given the unexpected success of this toy, I updated it to v.1.0.1 with the following changes:
- removed the "annoying" info messages
- added the possibility for the user to define the width of the margin blur, which was previously fixed
- included in the package the pattern

the second one is nice and perfectly realistic;
the first one is...an artistic licence, an "impossible" reflection (the filter is not so clever to understand that the pond is not at the ground level, hehehe)

To all those interested in playing with this toy, I have to post a warning: the top most pixel of the selection(s) - which is the "horizon" line - should lie in the bottom half of the image, i.e. equal or below the mid point of the image height, to get a reasonable reflection (consider that the reflection routine starts by flipping the image at the "horizon"line)

Thank you Dinasset for your warning. I had some problem with this detail about selection and I didn't know the reason. :tyspin
