Rod, he may need a little more information than that. I am sure many others would be very appreciative of "how you did it". Do you have a tutorial on it, already?

I don't see a video link, Rod. Did Rolf ever port to YouTube or he still using his own server? Does anyone know?

I saw your link. Was hoping I didn't have to download this file. Sigh.

They look feline in nature (yellow) but it could be anything.

Vampire?
Werewolf?
Evil Cat?

Definitely supernatural.

I created a specific brush for making my eyes, sort of a starburst brush.

That's probably the best way to go create a brush.Quicker anyways.
Yeah the file is 28 mb's and the extra is about 6mb.
I do not think he ever ported to youtube Mahvin.I believe he just uses the torrent links now.
Which is kinda sad really.
I suppose i could ask him if he or the rest of his contributors mind if i upload them to my youtube channel.
I have them all on Media Fire ;)
Pretty sure he mentioned before you could do anything you want with them.
Maybe ill just upload them and see if he slaps me. :lol

A scary yellow ghostish one? I for one don't quite understand what you're asking.

It's not feline, the iris is round. I would guess "werewolf" or similar.

No need for filters or tutorials for this though. This is pretty easy to hand-paint directly on the photo, using a layer with "colour" mode and a yellow colour.

One can expand the iris as needed to make the effect scarier. Below's an example using a soft light brush.

You might have a problem with uploading them to YouTube - there's a limit of 15 minutes to You Tube uploads (see: http://youtube-global.blogspot.com/2010 ... nutes.html) and most of the Meet The Gimp episodes are longer than that.

First, you'll need a bitTorrent client that allows you to download them. Not sure what the Macs use. There are several for Windows and a few for Linux. A few clients are very questionable, like Vuze, for instance, which is a mega resource hog (has lots of advertising on its platform).

A brief explanation:

The Meet the GIMP videos are licensed under a Creative Commons License, so you can publish them where you want, even burn them on a DVD and sell them. If you find someone, who buys. ;-)

At the moment I have a bit of a work/life/podcasting balance problem, so everything is a bit slow at the site. A Wordpress plugin broke and I have to replace all the links. Some are not fixed yet.

You can get every video on the site under html://dl.meetthegimp.org/meetthegimpXXX.mp4 and the companion files under html://dl.meetthegimp.org/mtgXXX.zip . Oh, you'll get no porn with the links - only a 404. But replace XXX with the episode number..... ;-)

If you want to download a lot of episodes I would recommend the torrents at http://meetthegimp.org/getting-the-old-shows/ - it's less load on the server.

I have no idea about the state at iTunes. The nice person who helped me with iTunes has been hit with a real load of personal problems and has lost the passwords and mail account that has been used. I have no access at iTunes because Penguins are not allowed in the walled garden. Every help there (and elsewhere) is very welcome.

Oh, I have also no idea about the eyes here.... :-)

Rolf

Thanks for making them though, Rolf. I make a point of checking your site every day and watching everything you make.

Why is sad ? where the problem with torrent files?
I think who never used torrents think to a world full of trojan virus adware, cracks, porn and what else ...there is even that but no much chance to get it if you are not searching for troubles (no more then browsing side...to be honest is much more dangerous browse unknow side)

Instead is the preferred media to distribute Linux distro, CC works, and yes CC video as that from meetthegimp

As usual best defence is read the comments, you may be confident that if a file was somehow infected that would be reported quickly

Some torrent aggregator may no care much about copyright, they may not care if somebody upload the whole collection of x files or of battlestar galactica, but they will care if mixed with that files are trojan virus or similar crap

And the other that make a point to only offer licit files will take care even more

Just think to torrent as you do for phone call...sure some maniac may use the phone
to persecute some innocent but that is far to be the main use of phone calls
