GIMP Chat says I posted this picture before, but I tried finding it by the filename it says that was used and it results in "no results found". Weird!

Anyway, for the record, here it is AGAIN... And just a FYI, I used a feature in GMIC to create the beer stein. Can anyone guess what that feature is?

I was wondering about that myself, because at one time, I could render a mask for GMIC, run it through the rendering process and come out with cool objects, but now it's as if I have been away from using those things for so long, I need to revisit how I did it in the first place. I'm just as lost and confused as you are, but I am certain David can put me quickly back on the straight and narrow.

Make sure your preview is untouched and the results should be the same. Cool beer stein!

what do you mean by untouched preview?
I don't do anything i just hit OK so shouldn't it generate what i see in the preview? i get a totally different shape.
See here, I have a black shape, I see the preview, and generated to a new layer, it's a different shape than what the preview shows.
even though i can go in to gmic again and compare the preview of the same black with what it generated, it doesn't generate what i see in preview.
