I have a problem with the glass text effect script

First I downloaded the script as seen above
than I have copied the script in my scripts folder as described in installation

then I open gimp,go to script-fu where the glass text effect should stand but find nothing.
I have searched everywhere but nothing found,does anyone know why !?

Gimper, I have the filter in Script-fu / Create New / GlassEffect Text. Take a look there just in case. :)

in Gimpscripts (from where you downloaded it) it's clearly written were to look

Gimper, try my copy. Be careful to set it into your script folder (.scm) After that refresh.

Another good way of finding the menu paths of plug-in's or scripts,
is to use the Plug-in Browser.
You can find the plug-in browser under menu,
Help>>Plug-in Browser.

That's odd...
It appears as though the script is not installed.

Are you sure that you extracted the .scm file from the downloaded zip folder?

Also,
can you take a screenshot of your scripts folder,
showing that glass-text.scm is indeed installed?

If everything is indeed installed correctly.
The next step would be to create a new Gimp User Profile,
such as described by dinasset,
in the post below.

This is what I would do:
- close gimp
- rename the folder .gimp-2.8 under your user name as .gimp-2.8-as-it-was
- restart gimp
this will rebuild a new .gimp-2.8 folder as in a new installation
- check gimp is runnig (should be) obviously only with the standard functions
- close gimp
- add in your scripts folder under the new .gimp-2.8 ONLY the glass effect gnutux filter to try
- restart gimp
- check whether you see it or not

Maybe you set the script into plug-ins folder by mistake. Did you try my copy?

RJKD, I think that you have it in scripts - Fu_create-new_glass-text. (look post 2 and 8) So I think that you will see it in that way. :)

The script is registered in 2 places.
1.)File>>Create Logos (gimpchat.com)>>Glass Effect Text

2.) Filter>> Alpha to Logo>> Glass Effect Alpha

If it is not showing up in these locations.
You may need to create new Gimp User Profile.

there is an mathmap.exe error (0xc000007b) I will have to remove on my computer.
I now look to find a program to correct the error
