With a cityscape I had to play/combine to get something nice (the source subject influences a lot the results, more than expected: metallizing curves are a "special animal" to work with)

After the last one, I think I have to stop with this filter: despite of the positive comment got from Graechan as soon as released it is practically "ignored" by the chatters (except my friend Issabella), likely really a strange "beast" to work with...

For me, the only images I can make "metallized" is in grayscale.

@Pat
@Norseman

Pat, you are right: as I replied a few days ago to Issabella, the original intention was to produce the outcomes in grayscale, which is the "natural" look for metal, but because of my love for colours I added the two possibilities to have them either mid- or full-coloured.

Thus, Pat and Norseman, if you want a metallized look you certainly should stay on grayscale.

Another important thing to pay attention at, is the selection of the gradient: should be it also a "metallizing" gradient ("Brushed Aluminium" for instance is fine).

The different methods produce different looks and should also be chosen after having seen the effect on the source image (which is important).

Here examples of what I see as metallized outcomes (no pre- or post-processing, outcomes are as created by the filter)

Looking to examples previously created there are other which look "metallized" IMO.

If some other one likes colours, an easy post-processing technique (duplicate+screen mode) can let the outcome look still "metallized" in colour (i.e. painted on metal)

metallizing procedure are strange "animals" and need to be "tamed" if someone likes to get that look he/she likes

My metallized pictures today morning. I used a metallized gradient in copper colour and I like it a lot, too. :)
