(click for much larger DA version)

Study in counter-light and silliness.

Done in Krita (3.0+, git version), which has much improved speed. This is a whopping 7000x5000 pixels wide and it was perfectly usable, only stuttering when auto-saving (maybe since I have no SSD).

Comments and feedback appreciated as usual. :)

Very nice. The pants (128px at the belt) look a bit small for the guy (190 px), but if they are very tight that explains the bulge :)

I rather suspect she will be going into the water herself soon if she keeps this up. ;)

That may well be true, should probably have hid part of them away more due to perspective. Thanks for pointing it out!

Yeah, I went with a jungle-type vegetation for that reason. I spent a lot of time getting the counter-light right; I found it pretty tricky to show their details while still making it clear the light is actually only coming from the back. The only light from this side is scattered light from the atmosphere. Took a lot of experimenting, good you like the final colors!

The cliche would be to let a woman be in the water. I thought it was fun to turn it around for once and let the dude be the one showing some skin. ;)

Excellent playful piece with nice atmosphere. Reminds me a little of a piece called "Nymphs and Satyr" by Adolphe-William Bouguereau, more because of the theme than the details.

Thanks, I'm glad if I manage to get the playfulness down. I had to look up Nymphs and Satyr. I see what you mean even though it's quite a different type of image!

Thanks lylejk! :D I should really put up the timelapse video for this; I repainted and repainted the details of this so many times before I arrived at something I was happy with.
