Being a fan of M.C. Escher, I am experimenting with tessellation ideas and have used several free programs just to get a feel for it. This image is my first tessellation made entirely with Gimp. I know it's not great, but it's fun trying. If anyone knows of a tessellation plugin that will work in Gimp/PS or any other program, I'd be very interested in hearing about it. Thanks Muchly!

Fantastic result, Greg. Dabbled with tessellations in the past, but very challenging and I'm a filter guy. lol

:)

Not worked out how to do it properly yet. There is an online program here. No registering and free to use.

I cropped it to make it tileable.

I've been looking. I have Flaming Pear"s Flexify which is supposed to do tessellations. It's an awesome enough filter, but not quite a tessellation filter.

I used the trial version of Tesselmaniac and it looks pretty good. Because I can't find anything free, I paid $30 for the full version yesterday. The site says that I'll have it within 24 hours. At 23+ hours I'm still waiting and hoping I haven't been hosed.

The Tesselmaniac guy got in touch with me and it works pretty well.
Here is a very simple one.

Pretty awesome result, Greg. Is the program pretty easy to use? I may too splurge (I said may; I'm a cheap bstard though. lol). :)

OK; a play with your first one, Greg. Now, I will soon hit the sack (another 14-hour shift tomorrow). :)

I didn't think of them for paver blocks! That's a pretty awesome idea! Maybe with a 3D printer we could make mini paver blocks for a doll house.
