Playing around with Voronoi and have been getting some interesting results.
The first one (Wilbur) is a downloaded original that I stippled with Voronoi.
The second one is my photo turned into a painting (G'Mic) and later stippled with Voronoi.
The third one is a downloaded skull that I did 3 separate Voronoi settings. Once with 1000 points (big dots),
once with 10000 points (medium dots) and once with 100000 points (small dots). I color composed them as
different channels. Red = large dots, Green = Small Dots and Blue = Medium Dots.

Thanks, Diego. Used G'MIC Paint followed by Contours>Gradient Norm to create the mask (filled while the background since I extracted the flower). I then ran it through my batch file for voronoi (16,000 circles here). :)

Wow Lyle!! Those are amazing! I never thought about the black background. I love the effect!
I'd love to know how you got such good separation in the points!

Nice result, Greg. Again, I enhanced the target by first running G'MIC's Paint preset (oldie but goody). I then run G'MIC's Gradient norm (white line with black background option) to corral the areas of desire. This result is then fed into Voronoi Stippler and then I turn the dots into color via G'MIC's Blend (Shape Average) which is under my name in testing. Oh yeah; use G'MIC's morphology filter to make the dots squeeze closer together as well. :)

Also, Voronoi Stippler's pretty much a must for creating decent marble mosaics. :)

Lyle, I love how yours came out. I need to work on it some more!

Thank You Molly! The first gull was one I had gotten untangled from fishing line. He still had a hook in his mouth but I was unable to help with the hook. The second gull was in an epic battle for survival between the crab and the gull. (The gull won the battle.) Photo ops like these are part of the fun of living in a shore community.

I keep trying using the morphology filter and I still cannot get the points to not merge into each other. There must be something I'm missing.

Thank You Pat!

Lyle's flowers in this post are much more to what I am trying to do.

To squeeze the dots close, try dup then blur base layer 1px to 2 px and dup til solid. I do this often. Morphology doesn't work all the time. :)

Still playing and have a floating image just for the fun of it. (A break from trying to figure what I'm doing wrong.)

Below's the code I used for the following result, Greg. In order for the dots to not touch, you need to use the -n switch. :)

voronoi -p 3 -n -s 16000 -t .2 -z .9  %1 %1.svg

This one has nothing to do with Voronoi (sorry...), but I liked to play with Lyle's source image
