Looks more like pipecleaners though. Anyway, used AAA Good Vibrations plugin and EyeCandy's Fur plugin also with a hair texture for the texture effect. It's still a work in progress, so, the binge continues. lol

Edit: Used focus blur and more texture to fill in the gaps.

close up it does resemble yarn! You can even see the twists on the individual yarn threads.
