To get details back you need to add convolution step which I outlined before.

This was a different flower, but I think I still made a wrong turn somewhere. Maybe it was the convolution to get back details. I had to superimpose the original to get the color back and tweak with curves. Does that sound like I got off on the wrong path somewhere?

Got another epitome; I combined Tran's auto-hatch with samj's ribbon and voila. lol
