This is some experiments I did based on a Photoshop Tutorial by Blue Lightning TV.

I used G'MIC to replace the steps where the original author used Photoshop's Filter Gallery. For me, it seems the most difficult part to "translate" a tutorial from PS to Gimp is when there's use of these specific filters.

When he uses Photoshop's "halftone pattern" I used G'MIC scanlines; and for "torn edges" I used G'MIC stamp.
I played with the angle of the lines and opacity of the layers after passing them through stamp filter.
