OMG :wvy
I like also # 357 although it makes me shiver .... because it evokes animals for which I have no sympathy! :)

Level_0 - I have some more with that brush effect; maybe later for them, I don't want to give you more shivers :hehe

You used a mosaic as a base, which I like a lot. I did many "mosaic" filters, some successful, other not at all.
May I make a suggestion?
- to show the mandala not "softly" painted over the mosaic but somehow "carved"?
Just a challenge you can surely afford...

Diego - I came in from a long, hard day in the garden to find your request/challenge. Not exactly sure the extent of carving you seek but here is attempt #1 just to see what can be done. At first I did try using individual tiles of the mosaic, but that lacked any symmetry but there are other parameters to play with yet.

It looks great, IMHO.
The mandala lines could be further improved (with a deeper effect, maybe overlaying it and using multiply?).

Diego - thanks and yes there are more options to play with on this 'carved mandala fork'. Just exploring the mosaic filter, its various parameters and resulting output forms brings different ideas to mind, such as the 'height of tile' parameter impact on any carving. Still here is another result on what has now become an exploratory journey :hehe

Level_0, Erisian and Diego - thank you. Another carved mosaic but I keep coming up with carved results with which I am not happy.

I like them, OMG. The wooden mandala has an especial texture. Polished wood is always so attractive and you have got it.
