Zoobka is a technique to easily create abstracts with various cool effects of light and matter.

I am no good at naming stuff and used a few GMIC filters after and extra layer modes as well

sallyanne your rainbow spiral is magnificent. Great colors, great light effect, great flow...
And I would love to have your second one as a real wallpaper in my bedroom ;) It is so classy, and lovely...

Actually you can use any existing zoobka and play with the settings of the Kaleidoscope filter of GIMP (found in the "Distorts" menu, NOT the G'Mic kaleidoscopes). And you will get a new zoobka, "made by you"! :)

So you can download any zoobkas presented here, or there:

And have fun by kaleidoscoping them.

Normally I recommend not to use too much complex zoobkas (like the roses you find here just above your post), but it's all up to you!

An example of good zoobka to work with:

This one was used to make the zoobka titled "Light Cruiser" (Light_Cruiser.jpg) you see above (2d from the top), just by kaleidoscoping it.

In the tutorial it is also explained how to use an existing zoobka to improve the quality of your result (step 8 of the tut). But this is if you have a bit of time to read the tut... ;)
