Just saw this filter today in GMIC under artistic.

ran it at the default settings and got this from a photo. - wish I could say I drew it. Took over 2 hours to happen though being a larger photo.. This is only quarter of the size.

Sallyanne, thanks for shining a light. It is always a pleasure for me to be reminded through this kind of feature highlighting that there's so much more available in GIMP than I've found or used. My mind so often seems to run in old familiar tracks, even though I haven't been there ... haven't done that ... and a friend used to wear a sweatshirt that said: "If you're not the lead dog, the scenery never changes."

Okay. Your unexpected bouquet. Ready now for some coffee and the day.

Nice fine, Sallyanne. Haven't really played much the past 2 months now (just that busy), but if I ever do, it will be with G'MIC. Thanks for sharing. :)

Very nice Dinasset and Issabella. Will have to revisit this. Haven't played with it since I first found it.
Thank you Lyle and neurolurker for commenting. Like to see some of your doodles too :)
