This was supposed to be a scene from The Raven - E.A. Poe, but it didn't turn out as I wanted it to be... The face looks kinda weird and the colors aren't right. Anyway, I thought I'd post it here :paint I'd love to hear your thoughts on it :)

I definitely like this one too. You ought to be drawing for a major publisher Dalia. :)

I agree completely with Lyle

The only thing that seems a bit off, E. A. Poe was anyway, but the neck seems a bit weird.

I think the glow got over-painted on her neck line making it look odd.

Great job!

I think the raven should be more hulking and with it's beak slightly open. Perhaps the wing on the left slightly more defined. I tried to find an image to demonstrate what I'm trying to say about the wing. This one is close about the wing.

Leave the head turned in the direction yours is in.

Great drawing! :) I see what you mean about the neck. I have no suggestions drawing is not my thing or I am not an expert anyways. :hehe I would not know what to tell you. They say practice makes perfect. :)

the problem with her neck is that the clavicles are not defined (or shown properly)

This would look great in a story book.Your work has a nice soft feel to it and i love that.Children would love it too.
Edgar Allen Poe is one of my favorite poets, and writers.A true work of art you have there.Keep it up!
As a side note i have been meaning to ask if you use a Graphics tablet or if its all done in sketch then scanned and painted afterward? Also do you use primarily Gimp for your painting?
Sorry if i seem to forward, i am just curious. :)

It would be amazing if I could illustrate a children's book! It's something I really hope I can do someday...
I use a Graphics tablet (Genius Mousepen 8x6), sketch and paint on Gimp. It's been a week or so since I started using Gimp, but it's already my favorite software for painting.
