help my eraser no longer works

I WANT TO GUM BUT MY ERASER DOES NOT WORK

Gimper I know you know your gimp pretty well. The simplest of things can slip us up though. You have no selection anywhere? Better still show us a screenshot of this when it is happening so we can see what the problem is.

the problem is that it is not in my program, otherwise I would have added a printout.
I will still be in contact with this person and will then make a printout.
I do have a problem here, if I draw a black line with my paintbrush then the color is not correctly black but rather gray.

as you can see the hardness is 100 and the force is 100, yet the line I paint is gray

Looks like you are using a paint brush :brush not the eraser :eraser . Also the foreground colour is on black so yes colour should be black but the opacity is only 65 percent. Bump it up to 100% and it should be black.

I have to buy myself a new pair of glasses, the opacity was not on 100

I think that with the eraser from my colleague will be the same problem, we had adjusted our program together and overlooked it that.
