Someone at DPR's Retouch forum said my stringy lion reminded him of scraperfoil artwork which I never heard of so I did a search and was amazed at the results of that artwork. This led me to try to mimic (fake) the look and this is a result of that effort. Created the stippling like affect by running engraved on the original photo and set to darken over the stringy render. Did a lot of other things to get a foil look (maybe a dud, but oh well; lol) and voila.

Lyle - I think you said somewhere that you were lacking inspiration; well given what you are posting currently (excellent results and novel too) then please stay uninspired

Very cool result. I knew engraved must have been used.

It indeed was, to get the smaller slices created, Nidhogg. Worked great for this woman, but had to tweak a bit for the Chimpanzee render I did.
