Not exactly Gimp Art, but the new method of Lyle looks so beautiful for a vector dude like me, so I wanted to test it.
Had to reduce the laser power significantly, because the thin parts would crack easily if it was cut too deep, it's only 9cm high.
Turned out like a branding iron marking, but of course sharper. I'm gonna put it on wall. :hehe

Incredible result, Nidhogg. Hope you don't mind me posting a link to this thread at the Bunny's Flickr. :)

I don't mind, and the bunny doesn't mind either because it's your bunny :)

@Nidhogg
I eventually understood (better late than never) why you like so much engraving filters:
- you can really engrave the outcome
This also explain why you normally prefer a flat white BG
Do you sell your engravings or are they for yourself walls?

@dinasset. Yes, that's one reason why I like the engrave filter in G'mic, and simple vectorish art style.
It is possible to engrave using other type of art or images, but they need to be vector files or 1-bit B/W.
Not selling these, they are just for fun and own amusement. We make name signs and other products for sale.
I am planning on buying maybe a 3D printer or some other cool machine for myself though, but still thinking about it.

What is mightier than sword? A pen?
Well, what is then mightier than a pen? A GimPen!
