I've spend some time working on an acceptable pencil drawing style, and by now I am quite happy with the results.

It's mainly based on G'MIC's excellent "sketch" filter, though there's a bunch of other steps involved.

The one thing I am not sure about is the darker outlines in the more "noisy" areas, like the bushes in the foreground.

I included two versions: one with just an overall outline layer, the other with the outlines removed in the noise-rich parts.


I'd be happy to hear your opinion.

(ETA: initial upload didn't include the different versions. Somehow the GIMP export didn't bother about an enabled or disabled layer mask. Weird. Upload fixed now.)
