I just tried to make my first image in gimp. I learnt the steps from youtube Gimptricks who is a forum member here. My interest will be in making illustrative images of physics concepts mainly for my students.

Wow. I feel so lucky to be in this forum. Thank you Tas_mania and Rod for your comments. I hope for a day I will so improve to be able to create more interesting stuff. Tas_mania, the mixing of the color streams is amazing. Did you do it in Gimps?

Hi austin - yes made in Gimp and G'MIC. There are so many possibilities for coloring, I can't remember how I did this it was too long ago. Any image you upload to Gimp Chat will always be there so I just re-enter a link to a previously uploaded image.. I thought you may like the particle collision aspect of it.
