I GM:ed a roleplaying scenario and drew some images to add to the mood. Some of these were already posted here on gimpchat, but since the story is finished, I grouped them together and put them up on DeviantArt now :)

Image

- Top left: First, we have the curiously triangual entrance to the mysterious tomb, opened because of a storm breaking open the sealed entrance.
- Top right: The first level was stale and decrepid, with coarsely cut stone, all with walls angled inwards.
- Bottom left: The second level took on a different tone, still heavily water-logged, but everything seeming more polished
- Bottom right: Strange things lurked under the surfaces of dark pools, ready to drag people down. The heroes used this to their advantage too though, luring monsters into the reach of the reaching hand.

Image

- Top left: The guardian was a formidable foe, but the heroes vanquished it by cleverness and guile!
- Top right: At the end of this level, the abyss opened up, with a narrow stair case leading downwards ...
- Bottome left: ... a staircase leading down into the darkness.
- Bottom right: The third (and final) level of the dungeon had a very different feel to it.

Image

- Top left: The last level opens up into an eternal underground battlefield, a vast playground for an alien thing to experiment.
- Top right: The Empress Toy - a captured troll, controlling (against her will) the battlefield.
- Bottom left: The King Toy - A captured, now completely mad man, obsessed with leading the never-ending battle against the queen/empress side.
- Bottom right: The Queen Toy - the troll first tried to trick the heroes with her human form.

Image

- Top left: The Toy - something between an automaton and a zombie. Very unnerving and dangerous.
- Top right: The guard toy - an immortal version of the Toy. Never did appear in the game in the end.
- Bottom left: The 'Twelve-toes', or 'gremlins', spawned indefinitely and single-mindedly fighting the war between the King and the Queen on the bottom level. Short and despite their menacing look, they came across as rather pathetic and sad.
- Bottom right: The Author Toy - a scribe modified by the Unseeable, continuing to write until he died.

In the end the heroes finished the dungeon ... but it's unclear if they can really believe their own memories ... :)

Looks awesome, Griatch. Still a fan of your Chiaroscuro artwork. :)

Thanks! Yeah, dark dungeons tend to favor a lot of black :D
