as shown in the picture here is a text written in front of an object and the text is in line with the object.
is there a tutorial somewhere in gimp or someone who knows how to make such text editing.
a selection should be made, and within that selection write the text. the text should automatically adjust to the curves of the selection.
maybe something possible with a path ??ii
maybe there is a genius somewhere among the gimpers or among our scriptwriters.
in anticipation of a successful outcome to my question, thanks in advance

Not in Gimp. Typically something for a typesetting application (Scribus or else).

there is a possibility in photoshop, it is not a typesetting there either, but a modified version to imitate it.

There is also Inkscape. Flow text into frame. Then into Gimp to add background...etc...

Tim created a plugin called "Filled Text Selection Plug-in" and I think if you invert the selection it might do it.
Since he erased everything in his website, you can't download anything even at "Wayback Machine". :hoh Maybe someone here have the plugin and might be able to share it.

Rich2005's solution to the problem via Inkscape is what I do.

I did found the topic as well, it's here on GC > viewtopic.php?f=9&t=17273 (on the second page it gives nice results)

EDIT: do NOT download this one, it misses 1 script, see my next post.

Ok, you do need 2 scripts.

1st to prepare the text with format that the 2nd script can handle to Fill the selection, or the text will be too stretched and ugly

I did put the 2 scripts together (delete the old one in your plugins folder or it will interfere), both paths in the menu are in Filters/Text/Text fit selection/ (Prepare then Fill)
Yeah I took it directly from my plugins directory, thus it's my menu path

How to use it?

Paste your text with the text tool (I did it with the option Box > Fixed)
Then make a selection, work on your selection, in my example a rectangle then an ellipse in minus mode

Image

Then select your text in the layers' dialog and go to Filters > Text > Text fit Selection > Prepare Text Into Selection...
Let the script doing its job for a while (watch the bar at the bottom of GIMP),

once it's finished, you get a new text layer with the text aligned on the left and no more selection.
Untick the visibility of the original text below in the layers' stack, then go to the channel dialog and click that button to "re"-select

Image

Go back to the layers' dialog select the new text generated by the "Prepare" script
then launch the second script Filters > Text / Text fit selection/ Fill selection with text..

Result (it's quite nice :clap )

pixlap,
thank you thank you thank you
I did a first text edit here around the seagull and fantastic it works perfectly.
now I have to refine my texts myself and or adjust my selection frame, I will work with that so that I get nice results.
thanks again for the quick response and the great result.

I have made the edit again, but see that the text lines are not all of the same size.
is it possible that i'm doing something wrong or is it normal that the text lines don't have the same size?

May we see the text you pasted before any "transform/prepare"? Or even better if you can sent a zip of your final xcf, I would like to see and try to reproduce the imperfection to understand why it is happening.

Sometimes a problem, Tin's plugins squashes / grows the text.

This is using Inkscape and the gimp-to-inkscape plugin https://www.gimpscripts.net/2023/07/gim ... scape.html Word spacing can be a problem here as well but it is possible to adjust in real time using Inkscape.

I cannot try with the very text in your XCF as I did not have that font nor the language installed on my system , when I clicked to edit it to change the size I got just hieroglyph ala Greek alike.

Thus I tried with some space-ipsum, and indeed depending the size of the words, and like rich2005, I got some lines bigger than others
Example:

Depending your needs, this script can be an option ;) it might work better when there are paragraphs, though.
I think the rich2005 method is better, a slightly bit more manipulation, but with the script GIMP to Inkscape, it should be very smooth ;)
