I've been toying with the flow all afternoon to try to get varying block sizes and the best way I came up with was to create the mask using a smaller image and then uprezzing. Did not post those efforts but to give a bit of hint of the result, see the reply to Patrice.

What is very interesting in both you (Diego) and Lyle mosaic is how the "tiles" are following the edges or(and) the way it fills "empty space" or a big single color a bit like man made (if I can say that), very nice.

If you see similarities in the oucomes of my filter and those produced by Lyle manually, is because I wrote -years ago- this filter basing my approach on the experiments conducted by Lyle at that time.
