just to pass the time...

simple photo manipulation:

- open a photo
- add a mid gray layer
- on the latter apply G'mic (pattern) "Random Color Ellipses" (twice, in place)
- then apply G'mic (deform) "Random" (value 20 in this case), in place

- set top layer to rain Merge

Nice one, Issabella.

An even simpler process (for a forest photo):

- open the (forest) photo
- apply (pattern) G'mic camouflage, set scale to 3, other parms=defaults; in place
- set top layer mode to grain merge

duplicate the layer and apply G'MIC Chalk It Up setting abstraction parameter to 10, like here:

now set the mode of the top layer to DIVIDE and you get:
