How did you do the top one PC? :)
Looks like Swiss cheese or bulls full of holes.

1 on a dup i run Graphic Novel so i got this

Attachment:
'MIC] Mirrored array ; -gimp_array_mirror 1,0,0,0,0,1.png
'MIC] Mirrored array ; -gimp_array_mirror 1,0,0,0,0,1.png [ 1.15 MiB | Viewed 1728 times ]

2) make a dup of 1
Color/Invert
Gmic/Circlism
again Color/invert

Attachment:

3 merge in multiply mode ...but it was too delicate

But the idea was there so i run the same Graphic Novel preset on the dots

Image

now you should have all ingredients
a play a bit more a bit with layer mode

the top layer was first dot layer i show on top in grain merge mode
below the other dot layer in multiply mode
the Graphic novel bulls

@Rod

now it should make more sense ...i hope!

the last "dot" layer in multiply mode (or burn ? )

on top the first dot layer (the cleaner dots ) in grain merge mode

Beautiful work there! I am just starting to play with Circlism. I need to get some practice.
