the starting point was a set images all colors of the rainbow derived full spectrum circle
viewtopic.php?f=11&t=296

But since so many appreciate for the colors i was tempted to convert in BW...because if you remove all the nice colors from a good shape, what reamain is glass, or silver

Those are SO neat, I haven't been able to get the procedure right yet. I've been doing ok with a kaleidoscope and fractals but yours are way cooler.

thanks for the comment, i hope to found how to merge them (but are much more ) in a animation

The problem for animation is that i could figure out a way to simultaneusly pan and zoom, and then crop

there are tons of Kaeidosope script and plugin but none work as i wish ,except a free PS plugin: Kaleidoscope from Medhi

And i have to use with a image viewer (xnview but also irfanview or other will work ) and copy and paste in gimp the result

The plugin will work in gimp with pspi but the preview would be not correct and a good preview is essential for similar edits

I don't know solution for Linux or Mac, there is a Mathmap code, quite promising but not sufficently polished,

Gmic too have a kaleidoscope filter but it does a lot of weird things, some apparently very weird, but not what i hope

It is not easy define what "wrong" for me in all the Kaleidoscope plugins
basically the different sectors don't merge smoothly and the offset, when is included in the option do not work well
(with offsetting there is a problem...what to do if the needed pixel is outside of pixel boundary
there are 3 possible solutions,
1 use BG color to exclude ,
the other 2 are warp, that is the most used but work well only if the images are symmetrical in both direction
and mirror, that give better result but for some weird reason is less used )
