Everything created in Gimp, except the center image.I created it this way so i could change the image in the middle whenever i wanted. Kind of a unique approach to background wall paper don't you think? :)
There are a few graphics in the side panels that will be in future tutorials also.This is also now my YouTube bg.

I thought it turned out pretty cool and wanted to share it.

The clock was created in Gimp and works through ClocX a desktop Clock program for Windows XP.

Thanks for checking it out.

Sweet! I love those side panels with the water drops on scratched metal overlays. Now....where did you hide the tute for the gimp clock? I'd like to have that myself.

You need only grab the Clocx program
http://download.cnet.com/ClocX/3000-235 ... 14893.html
After install go into the Clocx "Presets" folder and add a file with a ini extension.I added the INI here in code.
And add a image with a png extension with the same name as the INI file.
;all colors are in BGR format (hexadecimal or number)
[Settings]
CutColor=0xFFF4FF       ;cut window by this color (default red)
         ;not used with PNG in Win2k/XP

DisableAMPM=0           ;force AM/PM indicator disabled (default 0)
AMPMColor=0xFFFFFF   ;color of AM/PM indicator
AMPMFont=Times New Roman
AMPMFontSize=12         ;size of AM/PM font

HourColor=0x5FFFFF      ;color of hour hand
HourLength=73          ;length of hour hand
HourLap=0               ;overlap of hour hand
HourWidth=7            ;width of hour hand

MinuteColor=0x5FFFFF    ;color of minute hand
MinuteLength=89         ;length of minute hand
MinuteLap=0             ;overlap of minute hand
MinuteWidth=6           ;width of minute hand

SecondColor=0xFFFFFF    ;color of second hand
SecondLength=73         ;length of second hand
SecondLap=0             ;overlap of second hand
SecondWidth=5           ;width of second hand

;CenterX=60             ;center point's X (default image_width / 2)
;CenterY=60             ;center point's Y (default image_height / 2)

;load hour hand image from PNG file
;HourPNG=hand2.hpng
;HourPNGCenterDist=24   ;distance from center of PNG image to point that should be in center of clock
;load minute hand image from PNG file:
;MinutePNG=hand2.hpng
;MinutePNGCenterDist=24
;load second hand image from PNG file:
;SecondPNG=hand2.hpng
;SecondPNGCenterDist=24

Save this as a INI extension
Now create your image and give it the same name with a PNG extension.
Place the image in the Presets folder.

You should be able to kind of understand enough in the INI file to see where you can play with colors sizes of hands and things like that.The above file gives you the exact clock hands i have on mine.

IF you want to skip all that and just use mine.
Here is the entire file zipped with INI file and PNG inside.
README included along with an example image.

Just place them both in the presets folder and right click the current clock on your desktop and select options>Appearance. Select your clock from the list.You can also adjust the slider for size if you want it bigger or smaller. :)

Enjoy.

Thanks a bunch Rod. Speaking of Water drops, do these look any better to you? I made brushes out of all of them if you're interested.

The date on the clock is hard to see is there any way to adjust date color,as in the AM-PM indicator.
It looks great as a desktop clock,thanks for sharing

Nice brushes Draconian thanks! :)

Lyle i dedicate this image to all those in Michigan who can not go ice fishing at this time. :)

Thanks for the comments guys.Willy i tried to close my background twice.Getting used to it now though. :lol
Try adding this to the beginning of the ini file Graechan
DisableDate=0           ;force Date indicator disabled (default 0)
DateColor=0x5FFFFF  ;color of Date indicator
DateFont=Times New Roman
DateFontSize=40         ;size of Date font

Make sure to restart Clocx after the edit. :)
You can of course use any font on your system also.Just be sure and write the correct system name.
For instance Comic Sans would be Comic Sans ms (not just Comic Sans)

That's cool. Lots going on there.

My desktop is ultra boring and cluttered with junk, kinda like my real world desktop. :hehe
