I..hadn't sketched in like decades....and I've found myself delving into some basics lately, basics of gimp, basics of artistic styles etc....and find myself wanting things in such a way I am going to have to improve my freehand skills.... (*laughs* this with one who cannot draw a straight line)...so anyway..I am going through Griatch's tutorials (thank you for finally showing me how to resize the brush on the hotkey fly!)....and this is my first sketch in like....omg...XX years?

But what I am trying to figure out is what you are trying to say with it. The fact that the trunk is cutoff at the bottom with branches intack growing upwards. And the tree looking dead. And the treeroots visible. Hmmm....
