Learned a lot of lessons from figuring out how to create Doyle Spirals using Mathmap Droste. Decided to use justpaste.it to host the tut to share how powerful this site is. :)

tut: http://justpaste.it/wormhole

edit: by the way, I just finished editing the tut to fix/add a few things; pretty cool the site is both anonymous and also allows you to edit afterwards so long as you have the secret editing link (which they give you after you publish; no, I won't share that link with you. lol). :)

That's it! You've convinced me to download Mathmap. :)

I thought every one here would already have this cool plugin Erisian. lol

Glad the tut convinced you to getting it. If you get a landscape photo and make it horizonatally tileable and do this tut, you really get something cool by the way. If the landscaped photo is more wider then high, you probably don't need to initally tile it 4 wide like the tut; 2 or 3 should suffice. :)

Nothing to do with your tutorial, but I got messing around and came up with this.

A tutorial where you show us the ropes :)

Don't even remember the technique that I used to create this seamless texture ofnuts since I have at least 10 different techniques; more then one way to skin a cat. I originally created the texture from this thread (though you won't be able to see the source unless you are a member which is free, but pay some money to get some extra ability there). :)

edit:

Not ignoring you Elisian; just forgot to comment one your result. I like the catepillar (at least that's what my mind's eye sees). :)

Why not one more. lol

Won't tell you all how much I played with all kinds of textures; don't share everything that I do with you all since you all only think I'm mad; why should I make think into fact. lol

:)

Inferred this earlier; why not share a result. Of course I did a few other things too. :)

That last one is STUNNING! When I run the bow filter, I only get half a circle. Am I supposed to change the setting to 360?

I changed the settings to 360 and it came out ok but I didn't use a seamless pattern.

Opps; you figured it out Molly and you are right Erisian; going to update the tut promptly after I post this reply. Nice basket by the way Molly. :)

There is a few things I didn't understand about making the pattern and layer larger so I guessed at it.

Yeah; just have to play with the settings in Droste Molly. As a side note, I did update the tut (same link as before). Cool site allowing anyone with internet access to create their own custom webpage without having to have an ISP. I like the anonymity too. :)

I'm having trouble with those Droste sliders. Not made for subtle adjustments! :gaah

You can resize the window to make the preview a little bigger Erisian, but I do agree that the sliders aren't user friendly. Most of the time I just type the value that my mind's eye believes is the right one and then I use the up and down on the sliders for finer tuning. :)

I'm getting there. I cheated a bit on this one and used G'MICs Tunnel filter to sort the center out.

No cheating here though. :) Resizing the window helps a lot.
