I dunno where to put this but I would like to know if these are lame or should I go ahead and include them in the Metal Wurx series. I guess what I'm asking is anyone interested in how I did either one of them?

I would be interested. The second one has a lot of potential as a texture.

The problem is trying to make it seemless. I was trying to simulate a pic I saw and didn't even come close but discovered a different way in the meantime. The sample on the right was what I was going for.

That's exactly the kind of texture I was thinking of. I was thinking though, not of gimp textures but manually recreating it for specific work. Would it have to be seamless?

Seemless would only be for Gimp pattern files used to bucket fill a whole background or selection. Doesn't have to be, though.

Creating seamless textures is my sub-specialty Drac. Hope you don't mind the play. Child's play with Resynthethizer (and some strategic cloning). :)

Drac that second one is real nice!
Wow, Lyle you have to do a tut on making things seamless with Resynthethizer.

Erisian - those are really cool looking. That last one could pass for a butterfly.

Lyle - It may be a semantics thing but when I say seemless, there is no descernable pattern, edge, or repeat line like you get sometimes. To me, seemless is supposed to look like it is one huge pattern. I'll have to try out your pattern and see how it works. I have not had any luck using the Resynthesizer methods you have posted previously. It could also be a hardware problem on my end....you know, the nut between the chair and the keyboard.

Edit - The pattern works great! Great job Lyle.
Thanks zward and Mollys Molten Metal planet looks a heck of a lot better than Munimula. Anyone remember that one?
