Wood Texture Text Effect

Well, filters don't always let you change little nuances so I think it's good to know how to do things from scratch. I made the wood pattern using the idea from Erisian's post and decided to use it to make some text effects.

You're killing me Rod. I looooooove to fish. I like to put on some old sneakers and go walk in a creek, up to my neck sometimes, and tear 'em up. The pic below was here in town at a relatively shallow runoff creek behind one of the shopping centers I frequent. Who knew!
