And PC's Black Crayon Graffiti. :)
After running it through PC's filter i got rid of the black bg areas.

I created one leaf.
Ran black Crayon Graffiti on it.
Got rid of most of the black (except the halftone look)
Then i used the clone layer tool to rotate 30 degrees and keep the center (about 11 clones)
The i just used layerfx-2.8.py-stroke with a 3 pixel stroke inside to change the edge slightly.
